The Toyota Supra hit the market for the first time in the year 1979, but the company dropped its production in the year 2002. The Supra falls under the category of grand tourer or the sports car class. The vehicle was released as a predecessor to the Toyota Celica model. The design style of the Supra was derived from the model vehicle Toyota Celica, but the vehicle was wider and longer. In the middle of 1986, the Supra became a unique vehicle and was not based on the Toyota Celica.

The Toyota group included its own logo for the Toyota Supra, similar to that of Celica except the color. Toyota stopped the sales of the Supra in the states of United States in the year 1999 and in the year 2002 the company officially stopped the production of Supra in the country of Japan.

The iconic sports car Toyota Supra appeared in several movies, TV shows, Video Games and in movies. Some of its notable appearances include the 2001 film The East and the Furious, video game series Midnight Club and mostly the Gran Tourismo in the movie Need for Speed.

The Toyota Supra launched in the year 1979 was also called as Toyota Celica Supra Mk1 and Celica XX. This model was produced till 1981 without any further modifications in the design and it used the MA4x platform in its production. The vehicle offered three types of engines. The features in the vehicle include disc brakes on 4-Wheels, coil springs four link rear suspension, stabilizer bar and the track bar.
