Nokia owes it to the 'Asha' family

The Nokia Asha 303 has crossed the mark of 1.5 billion phones; yes, with S40 (operating system) the 'Touch & Type' phone surely is going GOOD by all means.

My daughter Stella who works for Oracle Advertising prefers Smartphones over low-end feature phones. Well, she may be loyal to Apple, but Nokia does have its own line of LOYAL customers! Wotsay?

The flagship of Nokia's Asha family has come a long way by shipping the 1.5 billionth phone; the other models of 'Asha series' are Nokia 200 (dual-SIM), Nokia 201, Nokia 300 - all on Series 40 platform.

Here are some of the attributes of the Nokia Asha 303: 2.6" capacitive touch-screen, QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 MP camera, and wide range of Apps (including Angry Birds - video game); by all odds the phone is "fast, slim and stylish". Yep!

About the commercial success, Nokia owes a lot to the Nokia Asha Series 40 phones; the low-end devices (feature phones) from Nokia are definitely giving a tough competition to Smartphones of other technology leaders, even though it lacks the computing power of high-end devices.

And if the figures are to be believed, then the Finnish company is selling 12 (Series 40) phones every second; great! As per the company estimates, it has more about 675 million world-wide users of S40 phones, which surely is a good sign for them.
